The Hidden You
Tuesday, January 31, 2006, 7:22 PM
So...just who are you? Are you the person I see on Sunday mornings? The one I see at our weekly TYG meeting? Are you the person who blogs "secret" thoughts on MySpace thinking no one knows? Is there another person hidden underneath the face you wear? Maybe you hide anger...or fear...or lust...or bitterness...or hatred. Maybe you share the real you with just that one other person...you know, the one who is hiding the same thing? Do you ever get together with them and justify yourself?

You know...no one has to teach us to be this way, we just are. It comes from our battle with sin...in particular, pride. We tend to want people to like us and think this or that about us, but rarely do we let people get past the surface. Even some of the "honest" blogs that are written, just might be written to gain the attention of approval of a certain friend or group of friends.

It's hard to just be "you" but it's who God has made you to be. Don't hide it. People who are phony are never happy and are always exposed... Live real!

Christmas time is here...

Where did November go? What a month it was though, eh? Celebrating not only our 10th anniversay as Grace Bible Church, but also 10 years of Youth Ministry! In addition to that add the opening of the new sanctuary! Yet in the midst of celebration and thanks to God for what He has done, we are reminded that we are daily in a spiritual battle! We have felt this recently here at GBC in very difficult ways.

In the midst of time off, family gatherings and enjoying the season, don't forget that we are at war...one that is greater than any war the world has seen...as it is a war over the souls of men.

October...

This is just a CRAZY month! So much going on. Tons to plan for and take care of. Sometimes people are slow to get back to you which can make things crazier. Wow...pray for God's grace!

Summer is over!

Well...one more summer down...another school year begins! It's not fair that the older you get, the faster time goes! As you guys get settled back into the routines of early nights (most of the time), classes, schedules, homework and the like, it will be easy to kind of put God and serving Him over to the side, or maybe even way in the background. A bunch of you took advantage of serving in ministry over the last few months, but our service of God should not end with a lack of time. God has you where He wants you and He intends for you to serve Him there. So think about that as you sit under the authority of your teachers...or as you see that student that no one talks to...or that new Freshman eating lunch by themselves on the first day of school. Your campus (home, private or public school) is your mission field and an area where you can serve the Lord with all your heart. So do it!

Grace & Peace,
Chris

Catalytic Moments...
Sunday, June 26, 2005, 4:47 PM
Hey Guys...in today's Sunday School video, RC Sproul talked about those major moments in our lives when God really grabs us and grows us up a bit. I encourage you to think about when you may have had a moment or moments like that and reflect back on how God caused you to grow...and then thank Him for it!

Have a great day!
